When life comes in the way...

        It's 5am and it is funny I've woken up now. This time usually, i'm just getting into bed. But then this day is different and funny, just like the mood. The world is still a dark, quiet place; just how I like it. 
       I hear the sound of the world getting drenched and can't help smiling remembering a conversation i'd had sometime yesterday. That yesterday seems distant already, like it happened in a different world, a world called happy. I take in a deep breath, my way of coping with the world when everything becomes too heavy to bear.
     As I sit here to pen down my thoughts, I wonder when this melancholic feeling walked in. How was it so swift? And not a noise did it make at its entry. I realize I should just curl back in bed. But it's too late, the thoughts have started flooding in. Funnily, it is just one thought in repeat - what am I doing with my life?
    Before I could answer I hear noises below. The alarm ringing, mother waking up, water flowing. 
    It isn't long before mother walks into the room with a hot cup of tea; the answer, I fear, will have to wait. Because just like that life comes in the way of my search for answers.

        When we were bachhas life was easy na? One group of awesome friends, and that's all we needed to be happy. After 8th when studies became unbearable and we just had to join classes, we all again ended up going to the same classes. Life was beautiful. Morning school mai chill karo, ghar ja ke nashta karo phir wapas classes mai timepass karo. And all this with the same group of friends. Those darlings who know you in such detail, its scary sometimes. They can order your food before you can even reach the restaurant coz they know what you would love to eat that day. They know about your silly baseless insecurities on which they make fun of you but dare anyone else say something, they'll defend you like crazy.
      Fast forward to now and I realize there is nothing as amazing as those friendships. Sure all my friends are still great. And i'm still in touch with most of my school friends. But now there is a school friends group, junior college group, senior college group and diploma class group.
     Still despite so many friends, i never get that feeling which i used to get with only one group. The feeling like we had one life together. Now its like everyone has their own life and we are only making time for each other whenever we can. Brings such loneliness sometimes.
